Assessment
ARCTIC Health Services provides comprehensive assessments for psychiatry, addictions, and mental health. Assessments may be completed as a psychiatric assessment alone or as part of an integrated package that includes psychological and occupational therapy assessments.
Completed assessments include a detailed written report, diagnostic impressions where indicated, treatment recommendations, medication recommendations when appropriate, and follow up psychiatric care for individuals who are accepted for ongoing services.
These assessments are designed to provide individuals, services, and organizations with clear clinical findings and practical recommendations to support care planning and recovery. ARCTIC Health Services also prepares medical legal reports for courts, insurers, the Workers’ Compensation Board, Veterans Affairs Canada, and legal counsel, using evidence informed methods and clear clinical rationale.
Our psychiatry team has experience across forensic psychiatry, youth mental health, trauma related presentations, occupational stress injuries, and general psychiatry. Several members of our team are active in research and have published in peer reviewed psychiatric journals.
Occupationally Aware Care
We understand that work environments, exposure histories, and operational demands differ across professions. Our assessments are designed to fit the realities of police, fire, paramedicine, corrections, dispatch, military service, and clinical practice settings.
We focus on how symptoms are affecting daily function at work and at home, and we provide clear recommendations that support next steps with your care team.
Evidence Informed Treatment
Our assessments are grounded in recognized best practice approaches for trauma, occupational stress injury, and related concerns such as depression, anxiety, sleep disruption, and substance use.
We provide a comprehensive assessment and practical recommendations to help coordinate and guide care through your existing providers. With your written consent, we can share assessment findings with your physician, therapist, insurer, or workplace supports to reduce confusion and support a clear plan.

PUBLIC SERVICES
Arctic Health Services provides assessment and treatment planning for members of the public who are experiencing mental health concerns that are affecting daily functioning, relationships, or work. While our core focus includes services for First Responders, military members and Veterans, and allied health professionals, we also offer assessment services to individuals outside these professions.
FIRST RESPONDERS, MILITARY & VETERANS
ARCTIC Health Services approaches occupational trauma and operational stress injuries as conditions that require careful, specialised assessment. Small differences in how an assessment is conducted, how clinical findings are interpreted, and how recommendations are communicated can influence outcomes for the individual and can also shape access to supports through employers, insurers, and other systems.
ASSESSMENT SERVICES
ARCTIC Health Services provides personalised assessments for mental health and substance use concerns.
The process begins with a detailed clinical interview to understand your history, current concerns, and goals. When helpful, we use brief screening tools or standardised questionnaires to improve clarity and support decision making.
